The great German newspaper Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, with a circulation of about 750.000 copies,
recently (November 17 ), published a review where the critic summarily presented the recordings
of four well known artists, "Neue Aufnahmen mit renommierten Kunstlern" Enrico Caruso, Renée
Fleming, Gunnar Klum , John Williams, which all demonstrate high level in the art of singing
The critic, Mr Michael Stenger, first introduces a new recording of some of Caruso´s greatest hits
( BMG) and then goes to a collection of "Night songs" performed by the soprano Renée Fleming
accompanied by the great pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet (DECCA).
The third inline is the Swedish baritone Gunnar Klum making his international debut with this record
of Schubert Lieder. (NOSAG RECORDS)

Here is the review of Klum :

"It is often well worth while to leave the beaten track how complicated it may
seem at times. A good example is Gunnar Klum whose sensibility and warm timbre gives him the opportunity to present his noble interpretation in this extraordinary recording of Schubert Lieder. Mr Klum is not accompanied by a pianist but the extremely brilliant Stockholm Guitar Trio- The combination guitar - voice gives the individual Lieder, such as "Die Forelle", "An den Mond" and "The Leiermann" an intimate quality and a very special colouring. You hear these miniatures as if they were almost new."
